Using Blueprints
Save and reuse parts of your builds with the Blueprint system.
Blueprints allow you to save a selection of your world as a file that you can easily paste back into your map later, or even use in other maps. It's perfect for saving structures, decorations, or any complex build you want to reuse.
Creating a Blueprint
Creating a blueprint is simple and integrates directly with WorldEdit's selection tool.
- Select a Region: Use the
//wandcommand to get your selection axe and select the area you want to save. Make sure your selection isn't too large! - Open the Blueprint Menu: Go to
/editmap, then click the "Blueprints" item (Crafting Table). - Choose a Category: Select an appropriate category for your blueprint (e.g., Structures, Decorations).
- Create Blueprint: Click the "Create Blueprint" item (Anvil) in the category menu. You will be prompted to provide:
- A Name: Type a memorable name for your blueprint in the anvil GUI.
- An Icon: After naming, a menu will open asking you to select a material to represent your blueprint.
- Save: Once you provide a name and icon, your blueprint is created from your current WorldEdit selection and saved to your account!
Using a Blueprint
Once you've created a blueprint, you can easily paste it into your world.
- Open the Blueprint Menu: Navigate to the category where your blueprint is saved.
- Find Your Blueprint: Locate the blueprint you want to use.
- Load to Clipboard: Click on the blueprint's icon. This will load the blueprint into your WorldEdit clipboard. You'll see a confirmation message in chat.
- Paste It: Go to where you want to place the blueprint and use the
//pastecommand. You can use flags like//paste -ato avoid pasting air blocks.
Managing Blueprints
- Viewing: You can view all your saved blueprints in the Blueprint Menu. There is also an "All Blueprints" category to see everything at once.
- Deleting: If you have SMOD rank, you can Shift-click on a blueprint in the menu to permanently delete it. Be careful, as this action cannot be undone!
