Map Rating & Voting

Learn how to provide feedback on maps and why it's important for the community.

Rating the maps you play is one of the most important ways you can contribute to the Game Maker community. Your votes help good maps get discovered and give valuable feedback to creators.

How to Vote

There are two ways to vote for a map:

1. After Leaving a Map

The easiest way to vote is right after you've finished playing. When you leave a map instance (using /leave or when the game ends), a message will appear in your chat prompting you to rate your experience.

  • Click [Upvote] in chat to give the map a positive rating.
  • Click [Downvote] in chat to give the map a negative rating.

This is the primary way to provide feedback.

2. Using Commands

If you forgot to vote or want to change your vote for a map you played recently, you can use commands. You will need the map's unique ID, which you can see in the map's description in the discovery menu.

  • /upvote <map_uuid> Gives the specified map an upvote.

  • /downvote <map_uuid> Gives the specified map a downvote.

Changing your vote from an upvote to a downvote (or vice versa) will overwrite your previous rating. You can also remove your vote by using the same command again (e.g., using /upvote on a map you've already upvoted will remove your vote).
